100 of the Best Natural Anti-Agers

What a surprise?  Kathleen Natural Caviar Enrich Eye Cream was selected as one of the 100 best natural anti-agers this year by Natural Health Magazine.

Natural Health Magazine is one of my favorite magazines that covers all the areas I needed to keep my life in balance. It is nothing else on the market for health conscious people providing unique guide from yoga, aromatherapy, reflexology, stress reducing, acupuncutre, spa retreats, organic beauty, complementary & alternative therapy to healing food.

I consider beauty as an art aiming woman to live happily and healthily.

The key for me is keeping it simple but intelligent, with an emphasis on the best natural skin care rather than make-up.  I do not need a confusing wide product range, but versatile and hyperallergic products. I cleanse my face with Cleansing Lotion with the hot muslin cloth to start my day.      I follow to spritz my Tonifying Mist before using a serum.

I change my serum depending on the year and what my skin is crying out for. Sometimes it needs hydrating, I use Silk Miracle Essence; other times it’s in need of a brightening boost, I use Kathleen Natural award-winning Illuminating Serum in the morning.

After a long, hard day, it’s important to arrange a mini spa to treat myself.  Your mind and body will thank you.  I will use Kathleen Natural Facial Sonic Cleansing Device to massage and clean my face when I have a hot tub bathe.  I find it is so relax and lovely to wind down all the stresses of everyday life.

I personally use Anti-Aging Serum at night for rejuvenating the skin, but come winter, as a person with dry skin, I really like to add a layer of Silk Miracle Essence before Anti-Aging Serum as the central heating produces a dry atmosphere.

Today, a myth is that eye creams are a controversial product, and you don’t need one until you start noticing dark circles or fine lines.  But the fact is it is much easier to avoid the damage than it is to reverse it.  Experts advise using an eye cream as early as age 25.  I choose to use eye creams in the age of 28.  What is your choice?

“The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes.” Audrey Hepburn.

“The eyes are the window to your soul.” William Shakespeare.

One of the ingredients I love for this eye cream is  Ginseng Root is considered to be one of the most precious plants in Asia and is traditionally used as an herbal medicine in Korea, Japan, India and China for thousands of years.  Ream more:

10 Benefits of Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic Acid is a hot topic in skincare right now – but how does hyaluronic acid actually benefit the skin?

Hyaluronic Acid is one of the newer wonder ingredients taking the skincare industry by storm. Upon hearing ‘acid’, it comes to no surprise that alarm bells may start ringing to some as ‘acids’ just springs ‘harmful chemical!’ to mind, and that’s something you’d rather not have near your delicate skin. We get that – but not to worry, the star ingredient ‘Hyaluronic Acid’ is quite the opposite. Known as the ‘magnet for moisture’ for its ability to hold up to 1000 times its weight in water (impressive, huh?), hyaluronic acid is naturally occurring in our bodies and aids our skin by replenishing moisture and enhancing the health and appearance of your skin.

So, here are 10 ways Hyaluronic Acid benefits the skin (and why Kathleen has chosen to use active ingredients in their best sellers – Caviar Enrich Eye Cream, Amazing White Illuminating Serum and Glamour Ageless Anti-Aging Serum):

1. Hydration – Hyaluronic Acid is able to hold up to 1000 times its molecular weight in water and so, it penetrates the skin and binds skin cells to water, infusing all layers of the skin with valuable, rejuvenating moisture.

2. Humectant – After infusing the epidermis with valuable moisture, Hyaluronic Acid continues to draw moisture in from the surrounding environment to provide lasting hydration benefits.

3. Lipid barrier enhancement – Hyaluronic Acid fortifies the skin’s natural barriers to lock moisture in for an even more dramatic hydrating effect.

4. Increased resilience – By enhancing the skin’s natural barriers, the skin is better able to defend itself against environmental age-factors and pollutants.

5. Tighter skin tone – As it fills the skin with moisture, Hyaluronic acid tightens the overall complexion and firms facial contours for a more youthful appearance.

6. Smoother texture – Much in the same way it tightens the skin, it also smoothes the texture of the skin for a silky smooth finish you can see and feel.

7. Less visible fine lines and wrinkles – Hyaluronic acid reduces the size and visibility of fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating skin cell production of collagen and elastin, two fibers that contribute to skin elasticity.

8. Stimulates skin cell regeneration – In addition to stimulating skin cell production of collagen, hyaluronic acid promotes skin cell regeneration for healthier cells and a more vibrant complexion.

9. Pigmentation A description of hyaluronic acid wouldn’t be complete without mentioning ability to reduce and prevent age spots and pigmentation issues.

10. Clarity – By promoting proper moisture balance in the skin, hyaluronic acid prevents the over-production of oil that clogs pores to cause breakouts.

Enjoy Hyaluronic Acid in all its moisturising, anti-aging glory and try Kathleen’s Caviar Enrich Eye Cream, Amazing White Illuminating Serum or Glamour Ageless Anti-Aging Serum.

Will you be my Valentine?

Valentine’s Day, also called Saint Valentine’s Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine, is an annual holiday celebrated on 14th February. It originated as a Western Christian liturgical feast day honoring one or more early saints named Valentinus, and is recognized as a significant cultural and commercial celebration in many regions around the world, although it is not a public holiday in any country.

History

February has long been celebrated as a month of romance, and that St. Valentine’s Day, as we know it today, contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman tradition. The history of Valentine’s Day goes all the way back to Ancient Rome, Lupercalia festival, between the 13th and 15th February, for its archaic rite connected to fertility. Lupercalia was a festival local to the city of Rome, a fertility festival dedicated to Faunus, the Roman god of agriculture, as well as to the Roman founders Romulus and Remus.

Romantic Connection:  In the ancient Athenian calendar the period between mid-January and mid-February was the month of Gamelion, dedicated to the sacred marriage of Zeus and Hera. Lupercalia survived the initial rise of Christianity, but was outlawed, as it was deemed when Pope Gelasius declared 14th February St. Valentine’s Day in an effort to “Christianize” the pagan celebration of Lupercalia. It was not until much later, however, that the day became definitively associated with love. During the Middle Ages, it was commonly believed in France and England that 14th February was the beginning of birds’ mating season, which added to the idea that the middle of Valentine’s Day should be a day for romance. The oldest known valentine still in existence today was a poem written in 1415 by Charles, Duke of Orleans, to his wife while he was imprisoned in the Tower of London, which commences:

“Je suis desja d’amour tanné
Ma tres doulce Valentinée…”

— Charles d’Orléans, Rondeau VI, lines 1–2

As the years went on, the holiday became sweeter, with William Shakespeare and Chaucer romanticizing it in their work.

Valentine’s Day is mentioned ruefully by Ophelia in William Shakespeare’s Hamlet, around 1600–1601

“To-morrow is Saint Valentine’s day,
All in the morning betime,
And I a maid at your window,
To be your Valentine.
Then up he rose, and donn’d his clothes,
And dupp’d the chamber-door;
Let in the maid, that out a maid
Never departed more.”

— William Shakespeare, Hamlet, Act IV, Scene 5

Handmade paper cards became the tokens of the day.

Esther Howland Valentine, circa 1850: “Weddings now are all the go, Will you marry me or no”?

Valentine’s Poem

“I love you for a life time

Not only for a day

I love you for who you are,

not what you do or say.”

– Belinda Galea
